in Ongoing Narcotics Cases
Monrovia, Liberia – July 30, 2026 — President Joseph Nyuma Boakai Sr. has ordered the immediate dismissal, suspension, and investigation of several government officials and law enforcement personnel following a review of the latest status report on ongoing investigations into major narcotics trafficking cases.
The Executive Mansion announced Thursday that the measures form part of the Government of Liberia’s broader effort to strengthen accountability, uphold the rule of law, and ensure that public officials serve with integrity and in full compliance with the law.
Senior Officials Dismissed
Following a review of findings submitted by relevant authorities, President Boakai ordered the immediate dismissal of:
- Mark Egon Kuiah, Deputy Director for Operations, Roberts International Airport (RIA);
- Johnny Bolar Dean, Commissioner of Police for Criminal Investigation, Intelligence, and INTERPOL; and
- Patrick Doe, Deputy Director for Administration, National Security Agency (NSA).
The President also recalled Patrick Komasu (702) from his assignment with the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA), suspended him without pay, and directed that he be placed under investigation.
Officials Linked to Cocaine Seizures Dismissed
President Boakai further ordered the dismissal of all government employees and law enforcement officers indicted in connection with two major narcotics cases involving the seizure of 198 plates of processed cocaine at Roberts International Airport and the confiscation of 3,971 plates of cocaine from premises linked to two foreign nationals.
Those dismissed include:
- Mohammed O. Gbowrah, Director of Security, Roberts International Airport; and
- Moses Jallah, Deputy Commander, Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency, Roberts International Airport.
Police Officers Removed Over Alleged Drug Transport
The President also dismissed two officers of the Liberia National Police accused of using official government vehicles to facilitate the transportation of narcotics from Vincent Town along the Bomi Highway to the vicinity of Mega Mart in Thinker Village, Paynesville.
The officers are:
- Anthony T. Blaye; and
- Wadell W. Kwarbo.
NSA Agents and Ministry Official Referred for Prosecution
In addition, President Boakai ordered the dismissal of the following individuals and directed that they be forwarded to the Ministry of Justice for prosecution in accordance with Liberian law:
- Jammel V. Jallah, Agent, National Security Agency;
- Christian L. Nyantee, Agent, National Security Agency;
- Caycee Nelson, Procurement Director, Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection; and
- Albenigo Janior, Agent, National Security Agency.
President Reaffirms Zero-Tolerance Policy
President Boakai said the actions demonstrate his administration’s determination to ensure that no public official or government employee involved in criminal activity remains in public service.
He emphasized that the government will continue to enforce the law without fear or favor and hold accountable anyone found to have participated in narcotics trafficking or related criminal activities.
The President further instructed all relevant security and law enforcement agencies to intensify ongoing investigations and ensure that every individual connected to the cases is brought before the courts in accordance with due process.
The Executive Mansion reaffirmed the government’s commitment to combating narcotics trafficking, dismantling criminal networks, strengthening national security, and protecting Liberia’s integrity and international reputation.
